Chris grew up in Georgia and Texas. He has been serving the Lord in ministry since 1994. He married his wife Kristin in 1998 and they have three children: Tyler, Timothy, and Rachel. He has a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary. He also has written three books. Chris has a deep desire to see the lost begin a relationship with the Lord Jesus and the saved to grow into a deeper relationship with the Savior.

Adam Jackson
Youth Minister
Adam is a lifelong resident of Tyler, TX and has been attending New Harmony since birth. He graduated from Lindale High School in 2010 before serving five years on active duty in the Army, followed by six years with the Texas National Guard. Adam married his wife Sarah in October of 2017, and they have 4 precious children.
Adam graduated from Andersonville Theological Seminary earning his associate’s degree in biblical Exposition. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in Pastorl Ministry.
When it comes to the youth, Adam loves getting to spend time not only getting to hang out with the youth, but to get to watch them grow in their walk with the Lord. Adam has a strong desire to not only build family orientated relationship with his students and their families centered around the Lord, but that his students and their families will desire to build strong and personal relationships with the Lord and always walk in His truth.

J.J. Thomas
Children’s Director
Jennifer (JJ) Thomas has served as the Children’s Director at New Harmony Baptist Church since 2024. With a heart for children and a deep love for the gospel, JJ brings years of experience and passion to her role. She has been involved in children’s ministry in a variety of ways since college and spent over a decade as a public school teacher before stepping into full-time ministry.
JJ has been married to her husband, Bob, for 30 years. Together, they have three amazing children, a fantastic son-in-law, and are joyfully anticipating the arrival of their first grandchild—a sweet baby boy.
She loves NHBC for its dedication to teaching God’s Word and growing disciples through strong, Christ-centered programs. For JJ, New Harmony isn’t just a church—it’s a community of believers that feels like home.

Bro. Andy Slater
Missions Coordinator
Bro. Andy Slater and his wife, Rosie, are from England, where Andy worked in construction before transitioning to missions in 1989. They joined Mercy Ships, working from Garden Valley for 10 years, leading teams in Central America and West Africa. In 1999, Andy became the USA coordinator for Hope Now, a British ministry operating in Ukraine and South Africa. He joined NHBC in 1996, became chair of the Missions Committee in 2011, and later served as NHBC Missions Coordinator from 2015. He oversees the church missions budget, organizes mission programs, and encourages outreach participation. Andy and Rosie have two married daughters and six grandchildren in Texas.

Jannabeth Kelly
Financial Secretary
Jannabeth Kelly came to be the Financial Secretary at New Harmony in November of 2020. She is the proud wife of Robert Kelly. They have been members of New Harmony Baptist Church for 15 years. They have two son’s, Tyler (32) and Gregory (24). Jannabeth was raised in the East Texas area. She and Robert lived in California and then El Paso for 12 years prior to coming back home to East Texas to be with family.

Cyndi Bazil
Custodian
Gladly serving the Lord & NHBC members with a smile, broom, vacuum cleaner, dust cloth and window cleaner, Cyndi Bazil is blessed to be a ‘doorkeeper’ (Ps 84:10) and is thankful for the opportunity to work at NHBC. She came to faith in Christ in 1977 and she married the love of her life, Paul Bazil, in 1984. They have been in New Harmony for 20 years. Cyndi’s favorite verse of Scripture is Psalm 17:15, which states, “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness.”
